One family watches another in Lake Manyara.

One family watches another in Lake Manyara. Lions only eat every four days or so. It is the females who hunt. Once they bring their kill back to the pride, the male lion eats first, followed by the cubs. Finally, once all have had their fill, the weary lioness enjoys the remaining fruits of her labor.

Families On Safari

Our Family Focus Safari is infused with activities that appeal to travelers of any age. Start your adventure by witnessing family life in the wild. Then journey on to expand your knowledge of family as you dive into a local culture. Sharing traditions, wisdom and skills, families (both visitor and village) will discover the joy of encountering their peers from half way across the world.

Families In The Wild

On this family-focused itinerary, kids will be fascinated with the sights and sounds of East Africa's abundant wildlife, which few will ever have seen outside a zoo. This safari adventure introduces participants to the wildlife of the vast Serengeti Plains, Lake Manyara National Park and Ngorongoro Crater as you travel through Tanzania’s northern circuit. Join the parade of amazing wildlife from gangly giraffes to zany zebras to lurking lions.

Families In The Village

Adventures with a cultural twist take center stage when participants spend time among the Chagga people. During your cultural safari you’ll be greeted with bedtime stories from a traditional Chagga storyteller, apply your creative minds to batik making and banana fiber art while woodcarving, traditional banana beer, and traditional cooking may appeal to the more mature members of your group.

Memories For A Lifetime

This adventure is a great opportunity to share with young family members how children and families live halfway around the world. They'll see how different- yet how similar - life can be for their peers. A special way to spend time together, this wildlife and cultural safari adventure creates unforgettable memories for every generation.
