Wildebeest migrating through the Serengeti

The great wildebeest herd on the move in the Serengeti.

One Million Wildebeest In 9 Days

Karibu (Welcome) to Tanzania, land of the Great Wildebeest Migration, one of the world’s most spectacular wildlife events. Over one million wildebeest and zebra follow the rain from the Ngorongoro Crater, through the Serengeti into the Maasai Mara and back to the crater. Their journey takes an entire year, most of which is spent in Tanzania’s northern parks, and when it is completed, the migration begins again.

The Big Five

However, this wildlife safari is not just about wildebeest and zebra. Other animals have learned that the herd knows where green grasses are abundant and the large concentration of grazers naturally attracts predators. As you follow the herd through northern Tanzania with your expert safari guide, keep your eyes open for the ‘Big Five’ (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, and elephant).

Other Flora And Fauna

While on safari with Another Land, you and your guide will explore Tanzania's impressive flora and fauna, embarking early on misty mornings to find leopards and watching the sun set over the herds in the Serengeti’s savannah. Marvel at the abundant bird life of Lake Manyara and the concentration of wildlife at the Tarangire river during the dry months.
